Date Posted:08/07/2012 10:53 PMCopy HTML Keeping in touch Since my 16-year-old son recently received a prepaid cell phone as a gift, I’ve asked him to use it to call home if he’s out past his curfew. One Saturday night while waiting up for him, I dozed off in front of the TV. Later I woke to realize that there was no sign of him, and there had been no call. Irate, I punched in his number. When he answered, I demanded, “Where are you, and why haven’t you bothered to call?” “Dad,” he sleepily replied, “I’m upstairs in bed. I’ve been home for an hour.” |

Re:Daily Laugh Date Posted:06/12/2013 6:33 PMCopy HTML A Grandfather's Patience A woman in a supermarket is following a grandfather and his badly behaved 3-year-old grandson. It's obvious to her that he has his hands full with the child screaming for candy in the candy aisle, cookies in the cookie aisle and for fruit, cereal and soda in the other aisles. Meanwhile, Grandpa is working his way around, saying in a controlled voice, "Easy William, we won't be long. . . easy, boy." Another outburst and she hears the grandpa calmly say: "It's okay, William, just a couple more minutes and we'll be out of here. Hang in there, boy." At the checkout, the little terror is throwing items out of the cart and Grandpa says again in a controlled voice, "William, William, relax buddy, don't get upset. We'll be home in five minutes, stay cool, William." Very impressed, the woman goes outside where the grandfather is loading his groceries and the boy into the car. She says to the elderly man, "It's none of my business, but you were amazing in there. I don't know how you did it. That whole time you kept your composure, and no matter how loud and disruptive he got, you just calmly kept saying 'things would be okay.' William is very lucky to have you as his grandpa." "Thanks," said the grandpa, "but I'm William. This little $#%+'s name is Anthony". |

Re:Daily Laugh Date Posted:06/18/2013 9:16 PMCopy HTML Stunned In Detroit
Police in Detroit last night announced the discovery of an arms cache of 200 semi-automatic rifles with 25,000 rounds of ammunition, 2 tons of heroin, $5 million in forged US banknotes, and 15 trafficked Latino prostitutes - all in a semi-detached house behind the Detroit Public Library on Woodward Ave. Local residents were stunned, and a community spokesman said: "We're all shocked; we never knew we had a library." |
