That is great. I'm not much of a mechanic. |

Joe, I have been so busy. I wondered what I would do in retirement but I have something to do everyday. I am helping coach four teams for my grandsons, two flag football teams and two baseball teams. There is a game or practice every day. Additionally, I was a confirmation sponsor for my daughter-in-law's sisters daughter last week. (Look up confirmation sponsor) The bishop who confirmed her, the Pittsburgh Bishop, is a man I graduated high school with back in 1977. I started a small tomato garden at my new home too. I tried at my home in Pittsburgh numerous times but I had deer that ran through my yard and at all of my tomato plants every year. Since I am really close to Lake Erie, I can see the lake from my house, there are no deer here. I only have to worry about rabbits I think; but, so far, so good. |

Mike, it's good that you have plenty to do. I'm not quite as busy as you are, but I'm never bored. I've been spending a lot of time at the Senior Center, mostly working jigsaw puzzles, but I also work out regularly on the weight machines and treadmills. I've met so many friendly people there (mostly women, lol), it's amazing. Good luck with your tomato garden and coaching activities. Great that you can see Lake Erie from your house! Don't be a stranger. |

Joe, I have been so busy. My grandsons had their championship football and baseball games. I spent the last two weeks at practice or games almost every day. And... my son in Texas his wife delivered another grandson. I now have eight grandsons. I will try to post more. I never thought I would be this busy during retirement. We also try to see a movie almost every week. Recently we saw Breadwinner which was just okay. The other day we saw Disclosure Day and it is a great movie. You have to go see Disclosure Day if you get the chance. How are things with you? |

Good thing I wrote down the number, LOL.
I am doing great, staying very busy. As one of my friends said, "You are quite the social butterfly!" I have been going out multiple times per week. In fact, I did go to see "Disclosure Day". It was great, especially near the end. Tomorrow night is the beginning of "Summer Movies at Art Park," and I am going with my friend Sharon to that. Also, planning to go to multiple fireworks displays in the near future. Went with two women to a karaoke restaurant the other night where my friend sang a song. My sister told me, "You are living your best life." I think she's right.
Congratulations on being a grandpa again, old man. LOL! You are re-populating the earth. Don't be a stranger. |

Joe, Are any of the women romantic interests? Good for you Joe! My latest project is fixing up a 10 x 20 foot shed on my property. It was built in 2015 and supposedly is an Amish shed. It has never been painted or sealed. I noticed when I moved in and started to cut my grass in April that Carpenter Bees have made holes everywhere. The shed itself is 8 inch boards with 1 x 2 inch boards holding the 8 inch boards together. If you go to this website: https://www.keystonebarns.com/storage-sheds.htm and look at the first picture that is what my shed with a ramp to it looks like. I sprayed Carpenter Bee spray and killed all of the Carpenter Bees. Then I purchased a gallon of exterior wood putty and filled all of the holes. It seems the bees like the horizontal surfaces under the eves of the shed first. I also noticed woodpecker holes near the carpenter bees. I got estimates to put vinyl siding on it that would match my home but the cheapest bid was $8000. The highest bid was $9875. I think that is ridiculous. So I am painting my shed with semi-gloss exterior paint with primer. After research the bees don't like smooth surfaces or the smell of painted wood. I have started painting and finished about 1/3 of the shed so far. The wood is rough and dry and it is sucking up the paint like there is no tomorrow. I know it will take two coats. Of course when I started this project it has been 90 to 95 degrees. I am wiped out after about four hours since I am drenched in sweat. Sound like your summer is going great so far! |

Mike, Yes, my summer is going very well, thank you. No, none of the women are really romantic interests, for me, at least. Although I did have to tell one of them that I wasn't interested. She was making advances toward me, lol. She is seven years older than me and not my type at all. But, she is also a good friend, fun-loving, and intelligent. Many of the women at the Senior Center are getting to know me, and a few are quite attractive and friendly. Who knows what might happen.
We have carpenter bees here, too, and they can be annoying as well as very destructive. Many people utilize bee traps to capture and kill the bees. You might want to Google "carpenter bee traps". Some are quite ingenious. I can only imagine the copious amounts of paint needed to paint that dry wood. Using primer is an excellent idea. Weather has been very hot here, too, with temperatures in the 90s, and humid. Good luck on updating your shed. Don't get overheated! Heat stroke is REAL. |

Joe, I have used 5 gallons of paint so far. I bought another 5 gallons and will be adding a second coat. The shed looks so much better now already. It was dull worn out wood sides and doors that had nothing done to them for 11 years. You can just imagine what it looked like. My new neighbor next door who is a big time gardener said to me that shed looks so good now and matches your house. As far as the women go, will there be wedding bells in the future? LOL We are planning a road trip to Dallas soon and I will be on the road for the next ten days or so starting next Monday. We are driving to see our latest grandson, grandson number eight that was just born on June 18th. |

No wedding bells planned as of now, LOL. Enjoy seeing your new grandson! |
