Dave, as a programmer it is common to use Hex, Octal, and binary numbering systems. After all, a computer is basically just a binary system with ones and zeroes. Either a bit is on or off. If you learn Assembly language it breaks down even complex programs into pushes and pops into stacks of memory in the computer. (I know nerd talk. My cyber security degree we broke down all malware, viruses, etc., by reverse engineering everything by using Assembly language.
